Chocolates: Healthy But Not Too Much

Chocolates is the product of the Cacao plant mixed with sugar and other tasty flavors. What makes it so irresistible is not also its delicious taste but also other chemicals that it contains. For one thing, chocolate arouses the secretion of endorphins which produces a pleasurable sensation that can be compared to the "runners-high" a jogger feels after running several miles.
Cocoa contains flavonoids which acts as antioxidants. Antioxidants protect the body from harmful free radicals that causes aging and damage that can lead to heart disease.Chocolates also contains serotonin, a neurotransmitter acting as an anti-depressant. Chocolates also have phenylethylamine and theobrominewhich have stimulating effects.
Anything that is taken in excess will surely have a bad effect. In the case of chocolates, it has long been blamed for tooth decay and obesity. Chocolate is even blamed for acne or for making acne worse.
Scientific research has already proven that eating chocolate is not the culprit for acne or for making it worse. Although chocolates does have high sugar levels, it has certain properties that prevents sugar from producing oral bacteria that leads to tooth decay. Chocolates also contain phosphate and other minerals so it will least likely contribute to tooth decay.
You must keep in mind that anything taken in excess is not good. Chocolates taken in moderation with proper diet and exercise is the key to maximize its benefits.
